Starfire was not shamed for being emotional. Her powers come from her emotions.
Raven was not shamed for suppressing her emotions. Her power requires amazing control.
They both. Work. They are both different kinds of strength, and they are both heroic and powerful and good. And they each learned from the other, and helped each other out by seeing from each others’ perspective, and finding the value in their differing approaches! Wow!
Fuck yes, this is how you write super-ladies, okay. There’s more than one way to be a “strong female character.” There’s all different kinds of strength. Why don’t more people GET this?
This was my favourite Teen Titans episode.
My favourite was the dragon. Though the one where Beast Boy and Cyborg get stuck in Raven’s mind was pretty great.

If you’re a girl who is specifically looking for gay friends chances are I don’t want to be friends with you because I’m not an accessory who wants to go shopping or bungee jumping or whatever girls do with you
People still come up to me and Steven and ask whether we can take them shopping. Steven just points out that he’s not much use as he’s not very fashion-conscious. I can’t get away with that though so I have to work out whether they’re asking me just because I’m gay or because I actually wear nice clothes. In the case of the former, I get angry, in the case of the latter, I point out that my clothes cost roughly five times more than they’re willing to spend and they back away slowly.
I devote almost all of my time to which ever is least horribly boring.I have really fun assignments and I get really into researching them. Then I try to write them and I’m like “wait, this is way shorter than I thought it was!”
